THE IJAW NATION MOURN THE DEMISE OF HONOURABLE JUSTICE NIKI TOBI, JUSTICE OF THE SUPREME COURT (RTD): A QUINTESSENTIAL JURIST

The Ijaw Youth Council (IYC), worldwide on behalf of Ijaw youths mourns the demise of the Honourable Justice Niki Tobi (Rtd.). The Ijaw born Justice Niki Tobi, an indigene of Esama Town in Bomadi Local Government Area of Delta State was a world class Judge and one of Nigeria’s best. He was a very knowledgeable Judge with flair for property law. The law reports are replete with several of his landmark judgments.

The legal community and Nigerians in general would miss his judicial erudition. Justice Tobi would forever be remembered for the critical roles he played in the evolution of constitutional democracy in Nigeria. As Chairman of the Committee that put together the 1999 Constitution and the 2005 National Political Reform Conference, Justice Tobi displayed the highest level of professionalism and competence.

The IYC sympathize with the Tobi family, the Esama Community, the people of Bomadi Local Government Area and indeed the government and people of Delta State on the demise of their illustrious son and judicial colossus. They should take solace in the fact that His Lordship, the Honourable Justice Tobi lived a fulfilled life.
