Isaiah is not fit to lead Brass LGA, Group tells Dickson, says he is bereft of good leadership qualities
Victor Isaiah, Caretaker Chairman of Isaiah is not fit to lead Brass LGA, Group tells Dickson, says he is bereft of good leadership qualitiesBrass Area Council, has been described as a visionless leader lacking the requisite wisdom and tact to lead the people of Brass LGA. This was stated by the Brass for Peace Initiative (BPI), a socio-political group advocating for peace and sustainable development in the area.
The group berated that instead of initiating developmental programmes and consolidating on the existing peace he inherited from his predecessor, the Brass council chairman has been fanning the embers of discord particularly among youths in Twon Brass.
In a statement signed by its Coordinator, Comr. Oprete N. Thompson, the group said the Chairman is not committed to improving the welfare of Brass people, but how to intimidate perceived political enemies and run a Gestapo-like administration.
Oprete pointed out that: 'Since the emergence of Victor Isaiah as Brass council chairman, Twon Brass and indeed Brass LGA has witnessed endless violent activities, thereby unconsciously painting the restoration government in a bad light.
We expected the council boss to pursue peace with reckless abandon. Unfortunately his body language has given us reasons to believe he has strong affection for violence and wishes to make Twon Brass a war zone.
It's clear that the chairman has replaced his core duties of administering Brass council and making positive impact with just wooing people for elections, while desperately disparaging the names of perceived political rivals in the area'.
Comr. Oprete further lamented that the chairman's high-handedness has impeded him from consulting the former deputy speaker of the state assembly, Victor Sam-Ateki, the former secretary to state government, Serena Dokubo-Spiff and other critical stakeholders in the LGA, which has made for his crass failure.
Oprete therefore said the group has lost confidence in the Victor Isaiah-led caretaker committee, accusing it of being unable to put down tangible projects in the area save for a toilet facility which it just kick-started some few days ago.
'As a group which clamours for the development of Brass LGA, we are using this medium to inform Gov. Seriake Dickson that the inexperienced youth he appointed as chairman as a result of the role he played in his re-election does not have what it takes to lead Brass council', he stressed.
