NDU ASUU: LECTURER LAID TO REST (PHOTOS)
YENEGOA: The Academic Staff union of Universities (ASUU), Niger delta university chapter (NDU), on Saturday 4th June 2016 laid to rest one of it's member, who apparently was the Vice-chairman of the union.
It was reported that Late Dr. Augustus Z. T. Erefah of the Department of Anatomy, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, College of Health Sciences, Niger Delta University, Wilberforce Island, was involved in multiple accidents that gave birth to several ailments, which demanded funds for medical treatment.
Investigations also revealed that at the time of the ailments, the late Dr. Erefah was unable to cater for his health due to unpaid salaries accruing to the union by the government, coupled also with the Bayelsa state government verification exercise, the stress on the late lecturer became cumbersome, he became severely ill, and later died.
The late lecturer was laid to rest at his hometown in Foubiri-Sabagreia, Kolokuma/Opokuma LGA, Bayelsa State.
The funeral rites were performed in accordance to the customs of the people, and his burial was befitting.
The ceremony was graced by members of the union, well wishers, families and friends.
May his gentle soul rest in the bosom of the Lord.
