UNPAID SALARIES: GOVT SORTING FOR FUNDS - EBI SIKPI

At a Meeting with organized labour yesterday, the government after expressing difficulties in raising funds to pay up the outstanding salaries of workers in the State came up with three proposals:

1. To be allowed to use 70% of all her allocations/revenue to pay up salaries.
2. To be allowed to pay 50% salaries across board.
3. Be allowed to pay up full salaries in segment/batches.

Labour not being comfortable with any of the options requested and was allowed to go and deliberate with members and return with a collective decision next week.

Meanwhile labour suggested to his Excellency to if possible meet big shots/individuals from the State or outside to either donate or lend funds to the State to pay up the outstanding salaries as the government was already in a fix.

When the governor requested names of such individuals to be mentioned, Senator Ben Bruce was mentioned and His excellency immediately responded by saying that the Senator Ben Bruce he knows can only offer common sense.

His Excellency however asked for other names to be forward to bail the State in this trying times.

Please if you know meaningful individuals/organizations that could help, please mention their names here.
