MAY DAY: HON. MACIVER HAILS SILGA CIVIL SERVANTS; SEEKS THEIR COOPERATION

Southern Ijaw Local Government council Chairman Hon. Joshua Maciver has sent a message of goodwill and felicitation to the workers of the council and the National Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, SILGA Chapter.

In a message to mark this years’ Workers Day, the Chairman said he acknowledged the hard times   the workers are passing through due to the drastic fall in monthly Federal allocation to the council in recent time.

The Council Boss stated that he understand their pains and empathize with them and appealed to them to exercise patience, noting that the issue of arrears of workers’ salaries will be sorted out soon.

The Chairman expressed his appreciation for their understanding in these trying moments and said that better days are ahead.

Hon. Maciver also noted the positive role workers have played in the development of the Council and enjoined them to continue to support the present leadership.

He solicited their co-operation in moving the council forward in these difficult times.

The Chairman hails the civil servants and as well as congratulate its work force on this year’s Workers Day celebration.
He added that he would continue to give priority to workers’ welfare.
